About Chambery Airport

Chambéry Airport or Chambéry-Savoie Airport (French: Aéroport de Chambéry-Savoie), also known as Chambéry Aix-les-Bains Airport, is a small international airport near Chambéry. It is an ideal location from which to reach some 110 major ski resorts.

The quaint French town situated in the Rhone-Alps is a perfect starting point to explore the Savoie Mont Blanc region. The airport is quickly growing in popularity thanks to it being conveniently located to the Alps. Savoie Mont Blanc is a perfect destination for winter activities and a great destination for other seasonal activities including Aix-les-Bains, the alpine lakes and diverse cultural heritage on offer in Chambéry.

The airport has a 2,020 metre runway that can accommodate all types of aircraft (up to Boeing 757-200s).

Airport Location

Chambéry enjoys an idyllic location within a valley between the mountain area of Bauges and Chartreuse. The largest natural lake in France, Lac du Bourget, is situated just to the north of the airport, providing a range of water-based activities in very close proximity.

Getting Around

Chambéry is a compact and accessible town to explore on foot, offering a range of historical and cultural sites. Bikes can be hired at the nearby Velostation next to the main train station, costing approximately 5 euros a day. The town of Chambéry holds several sites of interest.
