Whether visiting for the first time or you are a group of returning veterans, expect to find the “Best Kept Secret” of the French Alps raring to go for La Tania Half Term Skiing. The resort is well positioned to access over 600km of connecting pistes, granting the possibility of skiing the full Three Valleys in one day (yes it is possible!). There is an excellent variety of catered and self catering accommodation including hotels, chalets and apartments. A free bus service operates between La Tania and Courchevel, and runs regularly with the last bus leaving Courchevel at a little before midnight. There is an excellent accessible bubble and chairlift network making La Tania the perfect choice for families, beginners, advanced skiers and non skiers alike.

La Troika is a free beginners area with short drag lift and gentle piste, which is situated just in front of the ESF Ski School meeting point. The resort is served by a number of ski schools including Magic, New Generation, Sweet Snowsports, Cab9 and Momentum Ski. The beginners’ zone can be clearly seen on the La Tania webcam. The piste and drag lift are perfect for complete beginners, and those wishing to flex their ski legs following a break away from the slopes. It’s all but a brief A brief shuss  under the bridge and you arrive at the main La Tania gondola, ready to ascend the mountain.

Situated at the bottom of the Folyeres piste, in the heart of the resort is the main 12 man gondola. Once at the top there is a choice of runs to head back into resort as well as 2 high speed chair lifts, leading to the Courchevel 1850 and Meribel networks. There is seating at the station exit for brief picnic stops, and The Bouc Blanc Restaurant dropping down to the right slightly. The restaurant is as easily reached on foot as it is on skis or snowboard.

The Bouc Blanc Restaurant has plenty of seating inside and out, children are welcome, and there is a varied menu including a Menu Enfants. For 10 Euros kids can choose from spaghetti bolognese, sausages or burger and chips plus an icecream. Of course there is plenty of choice for adults too, with a Plat Du Jour at 14 Euros comprising of a main dish plus a selection of potatoes on the side.

Heading back into resort you will find a number of restaurants and takeaways for refreshments, beers and coffees, waffles, crepes and evening meals. Situated to the side of the ESF building at the base of La Troika is a small children’s play area. It has a climbing frame, pirates crow’s nest with slide and a fun tyre swing. Kids seem to love it and it’s conveniently placed for parents, waiting for children to finish their respective ski school classes. Ah! Lest we forget it also happens to be within a stone’s throw of the local Pub Le Ski Lodge. Older children are able to continue playing whilst parents soak up some afternoon sun. Kick off your boots and rest those weary legs!
