About Annecy

Annecy benefits from a climate that is as warm as the South of France and during the summer on average the lake’s temperature is 22° to 25°C. There are plenty of public beach areas which are free.
There are also many areas reserved for windsurfing or scuba diving. At the big beaches you will find pedalos to hire as well as boats, canoes, and you can even try your hand at sailing courses or wakeboard lessons.
Annecy is heaven for cyclists! The purpose built cycle path runs along the shores of Annecy covers a distance of 28 miles. The course around Lake Annecy is also often used the race circuit as a stage during the Tour de France.
There is not a shortage of more challenging routes either! The climbs you can find nearly include the Cols – de la Combiere, Aravis, Saises Forchlaz and du Cormet de Roseland.
In Annecy town there are antiques markets, food markets, art exhibitions and fantastic little boutique shops, bakeries and numerous French festivals such as the Lake Annecy Fete.
Luckily Lake Annecy also has more to boost about when you look at the French cuisine on offer. There are 4 Michelin star restaurants and an enormous amount of restaurants serving everything from typical savoyarde meals to the local Féra or Arctic Char fish caught locally.
Annecy is a paradise for all level of paragliding or hang-gliding. Numerous tandem flight companies can be found in the small villages surrounding the lake such as Doussard or Talloires. The most popular take off point is from Col d’Forclaz.
